Morato Group and Action Against Hunger, together to ensure a life free from hunger
In Italy and Europe, for years, we have witnessed a steady increase in poverty and a growing number of families exposed to the risk of food insecurity. Precarious employment is also on the rise, and those who suffer most from this situation are mainly women, who also have to manage the family burden.
This year, Morato Group has chosen to support the project “Never Hunger Again: from emergency to autonomy” with which Action Against Hunger accompanies vulnerable families, accompanying them on a transformative path, which integrates immediate support and support for autonomy, favouring insertion in the labour market. Participants are identified with the support of institutions, local social services and anti-violence centres with priority given to families with 2 or more minors (especially <5 years old), unemployed parents or those with occasional jobs, pregnant women and new mothers, victims of violence.
The route consists of three phases
- SPENDING CONTRIBUTION, through monthly shopping cards that can be used at large retailers, to provide immediate nutritional support.
- FOOD EDUCATION, to orientate towards a healthy and balanced date.
- EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT, through a group course, to improve participants’ personal and professional skills, increasing their ability to find work.
