Business and training: investing in the future
Collaborating with local technical institutes and training institutions is an important opportunity for the Morato Group to create a synergy between education and the world of work, which is essential to ensure that students are adequately prepared to face the challenges of today’s labour market.
This year we have strengthened our partnership with ITS Academy Agroalimentare Veneto, a nationally recognised ITS Academy of high technological post-diploma specialisation. We have developed a training course that has allowed us to bring our experience into the classroom with a module entitled ‘Cereals and Breadmaking’, for a total of 36 hours between lectures and visits to our factories.
The lecturers were Michele Minucciani, Plant Manager, who spoke about the techniques of industrial production of fresh and dry pasta, with a focus on the world of gluten-free, and Eugenio Poppi, Group packaging development manager, who illustrated the more technical aspects of industrial bread production, starting with the choice of raw materials and ending with packaging.
“Working with the students is always an exciting experience,’ says Eugenio Poppi, Group packaging development manager. ‘Despite the fact that they come from different educational backgrounds and, in some cases, from professional activities, it was immediately clear that the world of bakery products catalysed their attention and aroused keen interest. Some showed it for more technical aspects, others for nutritional and qualitative ones, but the transversality of the lectures managed to involve them all throughout the course. Knowing that I contributed in a small way to helping them chart the start of their professional journey is for me a source of great satisfaction’.
Giulia Stecca, Group HR & Organisation Specialist and project coordinator, concludes: ‘I am proud to have contributed to the realisation of this training course, which marks a fundamental step in our strategy of talent development and long-term sustainability. It is a project that has generated value for all the stakeholders involved: for the colleagues, who were able to put themselves to the test as teachers, acquiring teaching skills and further developing their professional profile; for the students, who had the opportunity to come face to face with the world of work, experiencing training moments inside and outside the company; and for the entire Morato Group, which can now count on a pool of highly qualified young technicians trained in the specific needs of the agri-food sector”.
