Enterprise and Education: Investing in the Future

Morato Group actively partners with local vocational schools and training institutes because these partnerships are a precious opportunity to connect training to the real world of work, a bridge that is essential to equipping students with the right tools to face the challenges of today’s job market.

This year we deepened our partnership with ITS Academy Agroalimentare Veneto, a nationally-recognized, highly technological programme for high school graduates offered by ITS Academy, by developing a training module that brought our experience to the classroom. Titled “Grains and Breadmaking”, the module consisted of 36 hours of lectures and visits to our sites.

Teaching the course were Michele Minucciani, Plant Manager, who described the industrial production techniques used to make fresh and dry pasta, with a deep dive into the gluten free universe, and Eugenio Poppi, Group Packaging Development Manager, who explained the more technical aspects of industrial bread production, covering the entire process, from how to choose the raw materials, all the way to packaging.

"Working with students is always exciting,” said Eugenio Poppi, Group Packaging Development Manager. “Although they came from different educational backgrounds and, in a few cases, different jobs, right away we could see that the bakery universe captured their attention and sparked their interest. Some of the students were more interested in the technical side, while others were curious about the nutritional and qualitative aspects, but the cross-cutting nature of the material meant that everyone was engaged for the entire course. I get great satisfaction from knowing that we have done our small part in helping them get started in their careers."

Giulia Stecca, Group HR & Organization Specialist and coordinator of this project, added, "I am proud to have helped deliver this training course, which marks a fundamental step forward in our long-term sustainability and talent development strategy. This project generated value for all its stakeholders: the colleagues involved, who put themselves to the test as teachers, learning new teaching skills and developing further as professionals; the students, who had the opportunity to learn about the world of work, with training both inside and outside the company; and the entire Morato Group, which could count on a pool of young, highly-qualified and well-trained experts in the specific needs of the agrifood industry."
